Python is a powerful open source programming language that has many packages that are dedicated to machine learning applications. In this module, you will learn how to write a few simple scripts for manipulating data.

Big data refers to the manipulation and analysis of extremely large data sets with the aim of revealing new patterns and trends that emerge from the data as whole. In this module, you will learn specific techniques for managing and modelling big data sets using Apache Hadoop. Apache Hadoop is a collection of open-source data tools that use many computers to solve problems involving large amounts of data and computation.

  • Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)- a distributed file system for storing data
  • Hadoop YARN- a platform for managing computing resources in clusters

In this module, you will have the opportunity to implement many of the techniques you have learnt into a real scenario and use data analytics to model and visualise your data. You will be given a case study with data set and a task to apply your learning into practical.

Prerequisite

Basic knowledge of STEM based learning upto Cert III or Cert IV is desired but not mandatory or have accomplished Foundation Course in Data Analytics from Techlearn
