Overview

We hear a lot about data these days.  As our world becomes increasingly more digital, data from the systems and devices that form part of our everyday lives is becoming more important.

The digital universe will grow from 3.2 zettabytes to 40 zettabytes in the next 5 years. As we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day. This data comes from everywhere: sensors, digital pictures, and videos, social media sites, purchase transaction records, cell phones, etc to name a few.

This creates demand for individuals who can assist companies to structure and visualize their data into meaningful information. As the jobs in IT are booming but there is a lack of talent and a shortage of skill sets.

Who the course is for

This course is designed for persons involved with the gathering or processing of data from the real-world environment. There are no prerequisites for this course, anyone interested in learning about Data Analytics and looking to make a career in this data-driven world.

What you'll learn

  • You will learn about what data is,
  • How it is stored, manipulated, communicated
  • Data encryption and visualization
  • Data quality and structuring

Curriculum

Data is becoming one of the most valuable resources on the planet. Data analytics is the science of analyzing raw data to extract useful information and draw conclusions from it. Learn basic techniques for storing, analyzing, manipulating and visualizing data.

Understanding how to extract and manage large amounts of data is essential for teaching computers to solve problems. In this module, you will learn basic techniques for manipulating and interpreting data.

In this module, you will learn how to effectively store, share and protect your data. You will acquire basic knowledge about the software used for working with data simultaneously by multiple users. Good data management is essential for improving the accessibility and reliability of data.

In this module, you will learn how to create basic data models that describe the behavior of data systems. You will also learn how to use charts, graphs, maps and other visualization techniques to assist in understanding information contained in the data.

Python is a powerful open-source programming language that has many packages that are dedicated to machine learning applications. In this module, you will learn how to write a few simple scripts for manipulating data.

Big data refers to the manipulation and analysis of extremely large data sets with the aim of revealing new patterns and trends that emerge from the data as a whole. In this module, You will learn specific techniques for managing and modeling big data sets using Apache Hadoop. Apache Hadoop is a collection of open-source data tools that use many computers to solve problems involving large amounts of data and computation.

Prerequisite

There is no pre-requisite for this training course.

Career Outcomes

After completing this program, you will learn to ingest and manipulate any size datasets, identify solutions to deal with data quality issues, you will learn to solve problems using data science techniques and tools.

Career opportunities include:

  • Data Scientist
  • Data Analyst
  • Data Maintainers

Did you know?

  • According to Modis, a global IT staffing services provider, data scientists remain in “high demand but short supply,” which translates into generous six-figure salaries
  • You don’t have to necessarily possess a degree or a Ph.D. to know the fundamentals of analytics. You need to be capable of working on analytics tools and understand the basics of data processing to get started.
  • There is no full automated data science, you need to get your hand dirty. Big data is just a tool but you can use any tool to achieve the desired result.
